30/12/2013MC-02A QI wireless charger – updated
13/01/2014I have been selected by one of the world’s biggest tech giants to beta test a new WIFI range extender. I am very excited to be given this opportunity but it is quite time consuming to use all its features, test it in different situations, submit reviews and bug reports etc. etc.
I posted previously about you can cheaply and easily extend your WIFI range by pressing into service an old WIFI router but these dedicated WIFI range extenders are very much easier to set up and manage. With these your network maintains a single SSID around your premises even though there are, in fact, two access points.
I can’t reveal any details about this new device (due to an NDA) but it’s already allowing me to work on my customers’ websites in parts of my house and garden that were previously covered by an old router.

Eager to know about the whole process of installation and the final experience.
Hi Charmie. The unit I was testing was a Linksys RE2000 V2 which, I think, are now available to buy and is a really cool device. This WIFI range extender, like most of the others, are an easy and painless way to improve your wifi reception around the house and garden. There is a setup CD but they are really easy to manually set up. Once configured they are totally transparent to your network devices. There is a cheaper way to extend your wifi range as I posted here http://webanditstudio.com/extend-wifi-range-cheaply/ but these dedicated range extenders are easier to use.
